If you have the room and power requirements to run a 3 vessel system, you'll be able to completely adjust the lautering / sparging rate by using the two pumps. This is often called continuous sparging or fly sparging where you are targeting the rate of flow out of the mash tun is the same rate as the hot sparging water going on top.
This kit has been designed around the Bunnings RACK-IT Shelving system. We would advise going the wooden boards and support rails (not the wire shelving) With this abundant racking system in mind, we have also laser cut a metal 25w pump board that you use to mount the pumps. If you are or know an electrician who can rewire the pump to the switch, this would be our recommended way. Otherwise having an extension cord to a plug on the wall that is easily accessible is the least electrically intrusive method.
This system can at a minimum be run on 2 x 15amp outlets, heating the sparge water and strike water at the same time. Then unplugging the HLT when it is at sparging temperature to get ready to start boiling after transfer. We would suggest biting the bullet and getting 3 x 15amp outlets installed to make it much easier.
